US no longer follows the law

There are laws that clearly define the status of visa holders here in the United States, the requirements for maintaining legal status and the process for the government to contest it. When the disastrous administration in Washington directs the US government to abridge the rights to due process of legal visa holders by arbitrarily revoking their visas without just cause, as it has done with two Dartmouth students and hundreds of others across the country, it undermines the very foundation of our Constitution and our Bill of Rights.

Furthermore it sends a very chilling message to the rest of us here and the world at large that the U.S. is no longer a stalwart of upholding and defending the principles of democracy, personal liberty and the law.

How can we ever maintain America’s reputation as a great nation, if we assault the very principles that define that greatness? The recent protests by over 400 residents in downtown Hanover give me hope that we can overcome the cancer metastasizing at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Press on citizens of New Hampshire. Action is the antidote to despair.
